Stan the He-Man?!?
Yes, that is Marvel Comics legend, Stan Lee in the photo above. In a bizarre twist, Mattel just released a Masters of the Universe Classics figure of Stan the Man! As far as I know, Stan had nothing to do with the original creation of the He-Man universe nor has he ever written a He-Man story, and yet...here he is. While I find the whole situation confusing, I couldn't pass up the chance to own a Stan Lee action figure that would fit in seemlessly with one of my collections.
Dubbing him the "Cosmic Creator of Power", his bio states that Standor was one of deities who formed the Eternian Universe. Without further delay, I give you...Standor.
Stan comes with "cosmic" armor, a removable helmet, and removable "solar glasses".
If you know anything about Stan, you know that he loves doing interviews. Let's see how it goes when Space Ghost gets his turn to interview "the Man"!

Lil' Masters of the Universe
This week, the popular toy brand, Pop Vinyl (by Funko), released a Masters of the Universe series and I was waiting for 'em! The series includes He-Man, She-Ra, Skeletor, Hordak, and Spikor. Being that I am (apparently) not made of money, I settled for just bringing home the first three. Maybe I'll pick up the other 2 when they go on sale.
The packaging for these cute figures is really nice and features illustrated likenesses of the toys, both on front, and showcasing the entire series on the back.
Now enjoy some closeups of each figure. This company does a great job of matching each characters likeness with a very simple character style. I've checked out their work on the Rocky movie figures and it really looks like Stallone and Mr. T! This toy line has a very fun look and I'm going to try not to keep buying them...we'll see.
Thanks for checking out my fun, new Pop Vinyls!

MOTU Classics Shadow Beast!
I scored a great deal on a Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics Shadow Beast today! He stand close to 10" tall and towers over the rest of Skeletor's forces! The dim-witted, but powerful creatures were often used in the cartoon as muscle for Skeletor's schemes, controlled by the henchman, Beastman.
Mattel keeps the high-quality of this figure line going strong here. Check out the pictures below. Everything from his fur to the wood rings on his club are expertly detailed. This is a very slick addition to my MOTU Classics collection.
And look how BIG this guy is compared to Beastman, She-Ra, & He-Man!

The Prince and The Magician
I wasn't able to get him the first time he came out, but the 2nd time's the charm...introducing Prince Adam & Orko! As a fun twist Mattel sold this as the Orko toy and included Adam as an accessory in the bottom of the packaging. After I missed their first release I got impatient and bought an Orko on ebay. I was never happy on having missed Adam though. Once I got Cringer with Queen Marlena, I knew I would HAVE to get Adam.
Adam comes with his sword, a half sword, and 2 heads to choose from. Orko comes with a cool floating base, a wand, and a spell book. It must really be magic because I can't for the life of me figure out how Orko is holding onto that book! His thumb is NOT holding it in place. I tried to wedge it in there and it stuck. I'm not asking questions.
Adam comes with your choice of 2 heads. I'll be sticking with the "concerned" look myself. See the options below.
Not much to say about Orko except they did a great job on his sculpt. He looks like he floated right out of my tv!
Last, but not least, I decided to try something I've never done before...an animated .gif! Without further ado...
Thanks for stopping by. Check back soon for pics of the very awesome Marvel Legends Future Foundation Spider-Man!

The Guardian of Grayskull
February was a great month for MOTU Classics fans. Here is the 2nd figure I was lucky enough to add to my collection...The Sorceress!
The Sorceress comes with her staff and Zoar, her Falcon form (She has to transform into a falcon to leave Castle Grayskull). Mattel did a great job on the details here. What could have been a plain, boring dress gets accentuated by etched and meticulously painted feathers on the ends of the skirt and headdress. Another nice touch is that when you raise her arms, her wings automatically spread out. You can choose to have the wings up or down, but it's cool that they do that automatically. Enough talking about it, check out the pix!
BTW, you can see a close-up view of the pix by clicking on them...just so you know.

She came from OUTER SPACE!
I missed this figure when she was release online, but luckily I found her at my local comic shop. It's Captain Glenn (a.k.a. Queen Marlena)!
In case you weren't aware, Prince Adam's mother is NOT from Eternia. She's from Earth! Before she was a queen, she was Captain Marlena Glenn, courageous space explorer. One of her experimental flights took her through a wormhole or something and she crash landed on Eternia. A handsome, young Captain of the Guard, Randor, discovered her and nursed her back to health...then married her!
This figure came with the ability to change back and forth from Captain Glenn to Queen Marlena, but I like her astronaut version so well that I honestly haven't even put together the Queen version. Check out her Sci-Fi awesomeness!
She came with a cool accessory...Cringer! He doesn't have any moving parts, but he's a great addition to the collection. He's much smaller than Battle Cat, which makes sense. I only wish I had Prince Adam to stand by him!

Return to Eternia
This month saw the release of 2 incredible new figures in the Masters of the Universe Classics series, The Sorceress and Fisto. I'm presenting Fisto in this post.
Fisto is one of the best figures in the series so far. The detail on this guy is amazing!

He also came with some sweet accessories. He has an extra head, belt, and sword to turn him into the 200X version from the more recent cartoon. I'm choosing to display his classic version, but the 200X version is pretty awesome. Check him out below!

Stay tuned for pics of the Sorceress...COMING SOON!
